As a creative promotions intern for Nickelodeon's Animation team, I worked in helping create videos for fans to celebrate their favorite shows. I was the first intern from my program to work on briefs, specializing in "Avatar: The Last Airbender" and "Invader Zim" – as a huge fan of both of those shows, I had valuable insight on how fans think and the content that they might crave.

When I entered UC Berkeley's school news organization, there wasn't at the time a podcasting team – which is what I initially wanted to join. So, I joined Multimedia as a Video Producer and learned to edit videos. I eventually became the head of Multimedia after two years, and the team expanded – creating the podcasting team that I had always wanted to join and a Snapchat Discover team.

Even though video is visually a universal language, sometimes context enriches understanding about what a video is about and why it is important – at my role at SupChina, I worked to make content from the China relevant and understandable to a American audience. Although an ocean apart, both Americans and Chinese people share a love of thought-provoking viral videos, and I enjoyed the ability to bridge a cultural gap with my work.
